#Trans 4 Trans / Queer Self-Love and Empowerment Day

Description: Join us for a Trans and Queer Self-Love and Empowerment Day! Last Saturday of February, the community will come together to enjoy a memorable day of making friends, celebrating our Trans/Queer Authenticity and bringing positive vibes and mental health!

Schedule:

12-12:30: Sign In Name and Pronouns Mingle

12:30 - 1:15PM: Speed Friending Fun

1:15-2PM: Lunch - Open Mic, Instruments, Karaoke, Poetry Slam

2-2:30PM: Self Love/Empowerment Planting

2:30-2:45: Hand Out Valentine Day Cards

2:45: Raffle

Main Event Details:

Speed-Friending:

New Friends will be made where everyone will have the opportunity to meet others and learn about interests based on a “speed friending” system of swapping partners and answering fun, interesting and silly questions.

Self-Love/Empowerment Exercise:

A Memorable Moment that will increase mental health during the “Valentine’s Day-Season” We have partnered with Plantita Power for an Intention Setting Program where you will be able to plant and engage in mindfulness.

Gender-Affirming Essential Fund and Raffle:

Enter to win some cool prizes! We will also be open for redistributing gender-affirming clothing and health products (binders,wigs, packers, menstrual cups etc.)

Open Mic/ Instrument/ Food:

Share a meal together open to all of our community members while having trans+ artistic expression karaoke, open mic, poetry, poetry slam, etc. We will also discuss current resources available for the trans and gender-expansive community here in the DMV area as well as virtually.

Personalized Valentine’s Day Program: We have partnered with Georgetown Law Center LGBTQ+ Group “OutLaw” to bring you personalized Valentine’s Day Cards. Sign up to receive yours before February 11th!

Details:

This event is open to EVERYONE (LGBTQ+ AND Allies!)

While all of CAKE Society Co centers the BIPOC, Immigrant, Trans and Gender-Expansive Community, all events are open to LGBTQ+ Members and Allies!

This will be open social hours for community members to enjoy our new space, socialize and learn about our services!

Light snacks and Hot Coco available on site.

Masks and Vaccinations will be required for all non-eating portions of our event.

This event is wheel chair accessible.

There is a gender-neutral bathrooms on the same level of the building as the Event.

This event will take place .7 miles walking distance from the Dunn-Loring Metro Stop.
